Another day, another TikTok Trend. It’s the app we all know and love. The app that can make us laugh until our abs are sore or send us down a rabbit hole of videos from dogs to dances. However, with more users joining every day, the amount of misinformation grows, particularly with wellness advice. So how do you know which health trends to follow and which to avoid? Luckily for you, I tested the most viral trends so you don’t have to! Here are 5 TikTok Health Trends that actually work:

  1. 12-3-30 Method: The workout method that went viral overnight. You set your treadmill to an incline of 12% and a speed of 3mph, and then you walk for 30 minutes. It sounds easy, but that 12% incline gets hard FAST. This method is great for LISS (Low-Intensity Steady State) workouts, which helps promote your body’s fat-burning mechanism. This method was created by Lauren Giraldo but has quickly taken over TikTok with people touting its transformative results.
  1. Proffee (Protein + Coffee): We all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but the macronutrients that compose your breakfast make a huge difference. Starting your day with protein will help keep you satisfied and focused all morning long. One super-easy way to incorporate protein into your morning is by adding a protein shake to your coffee! My favorite way to do this is to pour an espresso shot over ice and then add a salted caramel protein shake – I swear it’s better than a caramel macchiato!
  1. Rice Water for Hair: The starchy liquid created when you soak or cook rice in water, also known as rice water, includes inositol. Inositol is touted as a hair rejuvenator that promotes hair growth. The amino acid-rich water strengthens your roots, adds shine, and helps to mend damaged hair to help make it silky smooth.
  1. Chlorophyll Water: Chlorophyll has been shown to reduce inflammation and bloating, while also improving digestion, acne, and body odor so it’s no wonder this trend went viral! It sounds almost too good to be true, but these claims have been backed by scientific studies. Just add a few chlorophyll drops in your water in the morning and drink up…easy as that!
  1. Cloud Bread: If you haven’t already heard, cloud bread is the DIY bread that is made out of egg whites and corn starch that is taking TiKTok by storm. It contains half the calories of regular bread and only 1g of carbs per “cloud”, so it can fit into any eating plan! Not to mention it’s a high-protein alternative, and since protein induces prolonged ghrelin suppression, it makes cloud bread a more satiating option!
